Job description
Sales Development Representative
Location: Bristol (BS1 4HX)
You’ll play a key role in driving new business identifying and engaging prospective university clients, starting meaningful conversations, and creating opportunities for our sales team. You’ll be helping universities solve real challenges around reaching, engaging and recruiting the next generation of students.
About Hybrid:
Hybrid is an award-winning global marketing agency specialising in higher education. With six offices worldwide and more than 16 years of experience, we’ve launched successful campaigns with universities and education brands across the globe.
Today, we’re a leading name in the sector, with a strong share of the university market and over 40% year-on-year growth. As part of EAB, we’re continuing to build on that success, expanding our digital solutions and capabilities to offer even more to the education sector.
What You’ll Do
Generate new business opportunities by researching and identifying universities that could benefit from our advertising and student recruitment solutions.
Connect with key decision-makers through targeted outreach across email, phone and LinkedIn, creating genuine conversations rather than simply sending cold messages.
Qualify prospects and uncover opportunities, understanding each university’s challenges, priorities and student recruitment goals.
Build and manage your own pipeline, keeping prospects engaged and moving opportunities towards meetings with our sales team.
Book high-quality meetings for our sales team with relevant, engaged prospects who have a genuine need for our services.
Research and personalise your approach, using insights about universities, their markets and recruitment challenges to make your outreach stand out.
Work closely with the wider sales and marketing teams, sharing what you’re hearing from prospects and helping improve our approach to new business.
Learn and develop as a salesperson, building your commercial skills in a global advertising business with opportunities to take on more responsibility as you grow.
Required Experience
Previous experience in a sales, business development, lead generation or customer-facing role, ideally in a B2B environment.
Confidence speaking to new people, whether over the phone, email, LinkedIn or video calls.
A proactive, driven approach - you enjoy finding opportunities rather than waiting for them to come to you.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to ask good questions, listen and build rapport with prospective clients.
Commercial curiosity and an interest in understanding what makes businesses tick and how to solve their challenges.
Organisation and resilience, with the ability to manage multiple prospects, follow up consistently and stay motivated when you hear “no”.
A target-driven mindset, with the ambition to hit and exceed goals while maintaining a high standard of work.
A willingness to learn and develop, with the drive to build a successful career in sales.
